FAQ

Common questions

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT call tools in other apps. AppControler runs an MCP server, so your assistant can read your app list and act on it.

Can the assistant change anything?

Only one tool makes a change: set_app_policy, which sets an app to Approved, Review, or Blocked. Everything else is read-only.

Who can connect?

Admins of your AppControler workspace. Claude and ChatGPT sign in with OAuth. Cursor and other clients use an API key you create in settings.
