FAQ

Common questions

Which channel do alerts go to?

You pick the channel when you connect Slack, for example #it-alerts. Alerts go there so the whole IT team sees the same thing.

Does AppControler message employees on its own?

No. A message to the person who connected an app is only sent when someone on your IT team chooses to send it. Nothing goes to employees automatically.

Can I set a policy from Slack?

Yes. Use /appcontrol policy with the app name and Approved, Review, or Blocked. The change shows up in the dashboard and over MCP too.

Do I need Slack to use AppControler?

No. Everything also works in the dashboard, by email, and from Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. Slack is for teams that already live there.
