Common questions
What is an act-by date?
The last day you can cancel, downgrade, or change seats before a contract renews. It is the renewal date minus the notice period. A contract renewing March 1 with 30 days' notice has an act-by date of January 30.
What if a contract has no notice period?
AppControler uses 30 days by default. You can change it for any contract.
How do alerts reach me?
By email at 90, 60, and 30 days before renewal, plus an optional last call. You can turn each one on or off. Upcoming act-by dates can also post to Slack, add an all-day event to your Google Calendar, and show up when you ask Claude or ChatGPT over MCP.
Which contracts should I upload?
Any software you pay for. Start with the AI tools you approved after a scan, since they are often on monthly or annual plans that renew on their own.
